Organizational social structures of animals always amaze me,
You will never see a group of wild geese sleeping without at least one assigned as the watcher, while the others sleep it will stay on alert listening for the slightest noise or movement it deems as a threat.

It has different alarms it can vocalize to wake up the others from a soft wake up , a alarm so minor the the others hardly stir to a GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE GUYS where all of them will awake and take flight almost instantly.
Here it lets out a soft alert acknowledging my presence.

This photo was taken at Kelly hot springs in Grand Teton National Park. The animals especially the birds love it because the water is quite warm, anytime of day your are guaranteed to find something hanging around this area.

This is beautiful. I love the the slight hint of mist and the composition is just right. I only wish there weren't the little white disturbances to the bottom right - otherwise, this photo is perfect.
And that's fascinating stuff about the geese, hadn't known about that.

Canada geese?

Beautiful photo. Social structures in animals, including humans, are very interesting indeed. I really like the mist and the reflections.. Really nice atmosphere.
