thats pretty damn good for the lighting conditions. i almost like the crap light.. adds to the eerie-ness of an already scary looking animal. oh yeah and im smashing my head into my desk right now for not staying that night

It was Dark! and while the photos suffered from quality it sure added to the feeling of the experince.

I was wishing you were there because I knew how much you wanted to see it!

While you are hitting yourself for not staying around i am hitting myself for not being brave and putting my new gimbal mount my lens was attached onto and keeping my ISO down a stop or two more for a little less noise.
haha i was in that pullout for days and i kept hearing stories of a black yearling that would come close. waited and waited and waited and then that night i just couldnt wait anymore i was so burnt out from the week! oh well theres always another time. atleast that one was shot at 1600, thats a lot better than the 3200 or whatever you used on that other one

Excellent.. When I was in the lemar valley, it was sunny, but no wolves..
I'd trade.. Cool shots. :D
Those eyes are something else! I didn't realize you were from Idaho untill I glanced at your gallery. Nice work, I have enjoyed. The last few weeks I have been working on trying to get a hold of some wolves, so to speak. I have a buddy who tracks them daily up here in north Idaho and the opportunity has not come up yet. I would love to make it to Yellowstone, but I'm not sure my equipment will get the job done!

I'm glad to see a lower ISO on this shot compared to the others. And there is more detail to the wolf himself. His eyes are great. Excellent composition also.

ya this experince with the wolves has been enough to ground my Mark III from shooting above 1600 ISO
with my new gimbal mount I should of been okay shooting some of these shots at 800 or even 400, eh you live you learn right?
pretty wolf
