Ears and Eyes forward, a fox watches a ground squirrel hole intently for signs of activity.

One of my favorite things about this image is the reflection of the sky and Lamar valley within in its eye.

Focus by =Iamidaho Shot not in capture but in the wild, this shot is simply amazing, the detail is outstanding....it is like you are in the middle of the photo itself observing this Fox....a wonderful shot from a great wildlife photographer! (Suggested by =kat1e- and Featured by ^kkart)

F/3.5 ? Are you masochist ? :D Definitly a great pic, thanks to the blurry background and the extra short DOF !

I shoot with a 200 1.8 and a 1.4x teleconverter...you can definitely feel a days worth of shooting in your arms at the end of the day with that lens, its a very heavy unbalanced beast. But it takes spectacular photos when everything falls into place just right.

I forgot how huge their ears are. I saw my first fox in person when my dad moved into a new house. All the deer and foxes are gone now but that made my heart leap seeing one! It was beautiful and I held still and didn't make eye contact and it ran across a log going from one side of the creek to the other and hasn't been seen since. They're neat animals.

They are my favorite animal to observe. Wolves are beautiful, but I love the independence of a fox and its smaller size forces it to be a delicate and graceful animal that thinks about each movement they make.
