Ears and Eyes forward, a fox watches a ground squirrel hole intently for signs of activity.
One of my favorite things about this image is the reflection of the sky and Lamar valley within in its eye. I forgot how huge their ears are. I saw my first fox in person when my dad moved into a new house. All the deer and foxes are gone now but that made my heart leap seeing one! It was beautiful and I held still and didn't make eye contact and it ran across a log going from one side of the creek to the other and hasn't been seen since. They're neat animals.
